As a game developer, I work hard to put my genuine passion for game development into practice with extensive experience in computer science and extracurricular game projects. Like any good programmer, I always look forward to tackling new areas of game development, and solving unique and interesting problems.
I have six years of experience in game development, primarily in Unity, starting in high school where I learned independently. This led me to enroll at Michigan State University in the honors college, with a computer science major and a minor in game design and development. In addition, I was a part of MSU's game development club Spartasoft for five years, and participating in multiple game jam projects with small teams to gain experience and knowledge in the field.
I have experience in C#, C++, and Python. I've built on these skills with core computer science and game development courses at MSU:
CSE331 - Algorithms and Data Structures (Stacks and Queues, Trees, Graphs, and various other data structures)
CSE335 - Object-Oriented Software Development (Writing organized code, Polymorphism, Writing scripts that interact and inherit)
CSE440 - Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (Pathing and Searches, Statistics and Markov Decision Processes)
CSE435 - Software Engineering (Creating scripts to solve specific problems under a strict Time Complexity)
CSE498 - Collaborative Design (Working directly with an industry client on a small team, apply skills to solve a real world problem)
MI231 - Game and Interactive Media Development (Programming in Unity, Adding to game templates)
MI230 - Game Design (Designing game systems, Iterating design based on playtests)
MI330 - Game Level Design (Designing game levels, Iterating design based on playtests)
MI445 - Game Design and Development I (Working in teams to develop and present games)
MI455 - Game Design and Development II (Working in teams to develop and pitch games in preproduction)
MI497 - Game Design Studio (Working in teams to develop a game previously prototyped in MI455 for an entire semester)
MI498 - Game Design Studio (Working in teams to develop a game while meeting weekly with industry partners from AAA studios for constructive feedback)
I've also committed myself to two long-term game development projects out of class. I worked with Spartasoft Studio on a long term project as a programmer over the spring 2022 semester, and I've worked with MSU BEACON on an educational evolution game called Salmon Run from Fall 2021 to Winter 2023.
